This year’s Roughneck Blowout, the annual reunion for all graduates of Columbia High School, has been scheduled for Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Heritage Hall. The Columbia Heritage Foundation Board of Directors has been busy ironing out the details for Blowout 2025. We are hoping to make this year’s multi-class reunion the best one yet!
Tickets this year will be $50 each ($60 if purchased at the door the day of the event) and will eventually be sold early at Madeline’s Boutique and Bob Barta Lumber Yard in West Columbia when it gets closer to party time. Tickets will also be available online. In the near future we will be posting a QR Code that can be scanned with your cell phone camera to access the website where online tickets can be bought, and bids can be made on the Roughneck Blowout online auction items.
Filipp’s Cafe of Danbury will be catering a chicken fried steak dinner at this year’s Blowout. Plans are to open the doors at Heritage Hall, 508 East Bernard Street in West Columbia, at 5 p.m. on October 4th for early socializing. The meal will be served at 6 p.m.
The popular local band Southbound 288, which features Columbia High School graduate Kevin Cadenhead and his son, Reece Cadenhead, a graduate of Angleton High School and Texas A&M University, on lead vocals, has been booked to provide musical entertainment at this year’s Roughneck Blowout. The dance will last from 8 to 11 p.m. following the live auction.
The Columbia High School graduating class of 1975, which includes Columbia Heritage Foundation President Tracy Gupton and Vice President Cindy Brandt Saville, will be celebrating its 50th year out of high school, while Tracy and Peggy Gupton’s son, Brian Gupton, and his classmates from the CHS graduating class of 2000 have now been out of high school 25 years. Those who graduated from Columbia High in 1965 have now been out of high school 60 years.
The Heritage Foundation Board encourages all graduates from CHS, regardless of what years you attended school in West Columbia, to attend the October 4th Blowout reunion. For further information, contact Tracy Gupton at (979) 418-1410. And please spread the word to your classmates about the big plans for this year’s multi-class reunion the first Saturday in October.
Columbia High School’s 2025 homecoming football game will be the night before at Griggs Field, so the Roughneck Blowout and a home football game can be packaged into two days of getting together with old friends and the many people you went to high school with in West Columbia.
